IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS AND GUIDELINES FOR Specialist Programmer & Digital Specialist role ONLINE TEST
General Instructions
- This is a 180 minute-long programming test containing three coding challenges
- You must confirm your email address and name before starting the test
- The test link will become active at 12 PM and you will have a 30-minute window to start the test. If you don’t start the test by 12:30 PM, you will no longer be able to take the Infosys online test for the Infosys Recruitment Process.
System and Browser Requirements
- Your desktop/laptop needs to have a working webcam
- For the best test experience, we recommend the latest version of Google Chrome/Chromium.
- A stable internet connection is required to take the test for the best experience. If you go offline during the test, your previously submitted answers will not be lost and get saved on our servers. You can log in to the test again and continue coding from where you left. However, the test timer will keep running from the time you start the test without any pause
- It is recommended to close all the other applications and tabs before taking the test
- If a page doesn’t load correctly, refresh the browser window to fix the issue.
Proctoring Guidelines
- This test will be online proctored. Browser activities and live video will be captured.
- Any suspicious browser-related activity or behaviour like exiting full-screen mode, copying and pasting content, switching tabs, or using the browser for anything else will automatically end your test.
- No human face or anything resembling a human face in photo frames/posters/images should be present in the frame getting captured in the video. If AI detects another face in the frame, your test will automatically end.
- Detection of any suspicious activity or behaviour in the proctoring environment will automatically end your test.
Test Platform
- You will have the option to choose a programming language for taking the test. Options available in the dropdown will be: C, C++11, C++14, Java 7/8, Python2/3, C#, Javascript, PHP, R, SWIFT, Objective C and Perl.
- The test platform supports IntelliSense and provides auto-completion suggestions that cannot be dismissed. Pressing the ESC button will not dismiss the suggestions but will exit the full-screen mode. You will be prompted to enter the full-screen mode again if you press the ESC button.
Code Debugging/Execution
- The code area and problem statement can be split vertically by maximizing the code editor.
- In coding-based questions, you can print to console to debug your code using the appropriate print command for each language (Eg: cout for C++, printf for C, etc.)
- Each program should be executed at least once.
- A program can be executed any number of times.
- The execution yielding the highest score will be taken into consideration for the final scoring.
Scoring
All the submissions for the test shall be evaluated by the judging panel on the following parameters:
- Number of test cases that the code passes and code efficiency
- There are marks are assigned to each question based on the difficulty levels and the solutions will be evaluated accordingly
- Solutions will be screened for plagiarism and detection of any form of plagiarism will lead to disqualification of the candidate.
Location and Other Requirements
- Select a location where you can remain undisturbed for the entire duration of the test.
- The room should be as quiet as possible. Ensure there is no background noise such as music, television, people chatting.
- The lighting in the room must be bright enough to be considered ‘daylight’ quality. Overhead lighting is optimal. Ensure that the source of light is in front of you and not behind.
- Ensure you have a comfortable chair and are seated upright. Your face should be visible so that the webcam can detect and capture snapshots frequently. Partial face visibility will be considered a violation of instructions for the tests.
- Ensure that there are no people around you. If anyone else apart from you is detected in the video, you will be disqualified from the Infosys Recruitment Process.
- The use of online communication applications during the tests is strictly prohibited. Before you begin to take the test, ensure you close all programs and applications, including communication applications like Skype, Microsoft Teams, etc.
- Use of mobile phones for any reason other than mobile hotspot and tethering is prohibited and will lead to disqualification from the recruitment process.
- You may keep stationery items with you for taking the test. The use of calculators and similar devices is not allowed during the test.
The entire duration of the test is video-proctored therefore, please ensure the following:
- You must dress as though you are in a public setting
- You must not use headphones, earphones, or any other type of external audio equipment
- You must not communicate with any other person by any means
- You must not leave the video frame during the exam for any reason.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
If you are found indulging in malpractice, including but not limited to appearing for multiple exams using different or fake credentials, at any stage of the process, Infosys will disqualify you from the online test and the job offer with immediate effect.
